Learn the impact that COVID-19 has on the systems of the body

COVID-19 pandemic has affected all of our lives

COVID-19 impact on body systemsThe whole world is talking about coronavirus. From viral loads to R0 numbers, mask-wearing to ventilators, asymptomatic spreaders to aerosolized particles, it’s on everyone’s mind. But as scientists and doctors around the world race to understand the virus, determine the best treatments, and protect the public, it is difficult to keep up with which information is correct, reliable, and factual. It’s also hard to understand what it all means to us. The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting all of our lives dramatically, but how much do we really understand about what this novel coronavirus is, how it came to be, and what the COVID-19 impact on body systems is?

Exhibiting the latest research

An emergency medicine physician and epidemiologist with experience in emerging infectious disease preparedness and response compiled this new exhibition content alongside Imagine Exhibitions. The content represents the latest knowledge, amassed from the most recent research available. Some of this research is based on case reports and limited data and may evolve as the world continues to learn more about COVID-19 and COVID-19 impact on body systems.

COVID-19 impact on body systems

COVID-19 impact on body systemsCOVID-19 is the disease caused by a coronavirus called “SARS-CoV-2,” which was first identified in China in December 2019 and is now spreading around the world. When one disease spreads all over the world, we call this a pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic is severely impacting daily life for people across the globe, with stay-at-home orders, canceled events, and changes in usual public practices. But, if you want to understand the science behind why daily life had to change so much, you should plan your visit to REAL BODIES at Bally’s today.

As visitors explore the 11 galleries of the exhibition, they will now be able to learn about COVID-19 within the context of each major system of the human anatomy—from respiration to digestion to circulation. In addition, in keeping with the exhibition’s commitment to exploring the historical, cultural, and emotional context of the human body, the exhibition also addresses efforts related to the treatment of the novel coronavirus. Further, it explores the effects the pandemic wrought on human health and healthcare beyond what is directly attributable to the virus. Presented alongside more than 20 real, perfectly preserved human bodies and more than 200 anatomical specimens, this new content illustrates the complexity of viral infection, the science behind common symptoms, and the challenges that healthcare workers face in treating and preventing the virus.

A new SARS-CoV-2 art installation

In addition to this new educational content, a stunning new art installation featuring dozens of 3-D printed SARS-CoV-2 models will be added to the exhibition’s “Repair” gallery, which explores the incredible ways that our body learns to repair itself from illness and injury. A demonstration of the overwhelming nature of the virus when it attacks the human body, this installation invites visitors to consider the astounding biochemical activity that happens within our own bodies each moment of every day.

Scientists, doctors, and researchers around the world are working tirelessly to understand the ways that COVID 19 is contracted, spread, and prevented. REAL BODIES at Bally’s presents the research of those on the frontlines of this fight in a way that is enlightening, entertaining, and informative, making it a must-see for visitors to the Las Vegas strip.
